Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of receipts2excel.ca (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

receipts2excel.ca is a one-time-use receipt processing tool that uses artificial intelligence to extract data from photos of business receipts and organizes that data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The Service is designed as a data organizer only — it does not provide tax advice, calculate taxes, or verify the accuracy of receipt data.

2. Purchases & Sessions

The Service operates on a one-time purchase model. When you purchase a plan:

• You receive a single processing session valid for 20 minutes from the time of payment verification
• The session allows you to upload and process receipt photos up to the limits of your selected plan (Standard: 10 photos / 25 MB; Extended: 20 photos / 40 MB)
• Each session may be used once. After processing and downloading your Excel file, the session is complete
• Sessions that expire (20-minute limit reached) without processing are not automatically refunded — ensure you are ready to upload before purchasing

3. Refund Policy

Due to the immediate digital delivery nature of this service, purchases are generally non-refundable once a session has been used to process receipts and an Excel file has been generated and downloaded.

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

• Technical failure on our end that prevented delivery of the Excel file after payment
• Duplicate charges due to a payment processing error

To request a refund, contact support@receipts2excel.ca within 7 days of purchase, including your order confirmation or transaction ID.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload images that do not depict genuine business receipts
• Attempt to circumvent payment requirements or session limits
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
• Upload images containing illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components of the Service

5. Accuracy of Extracted Data

The Service uses AI vision technology to read receipt data. While we strive for accuracy, extraction results depend heavily on the quality and legibility of the uploaded photos. We make no warranty that:

• All data will be extracted correctly
• All receipts will be readable (blurry, torn, or poorly lit receipts may not be processed)
• Extracted amounts match the amounts on your original receipts

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of all extracted data before submitting it to your accountant or using it for tax filings.

6. No Tax Advice

The Service is a data organization tool only. Nothing provided by the Service constitutes tax advice, legal advice, or accounting advice. Always consult a qualified tax professional or accountant for guidance on your specific tax situation.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the receipt images you upload and the Excel file generated from your data. You grant us a temporary, limited license to process your images solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

All other intellectual property related to the Service — including the software, design, and content — is owned by or licensed to receipts2excel.ca.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SESSION IN QUESTION. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
